Think Like a Pony, established in 2009, has grown into an international community with members across the UK, USA, Europe, and New Zealand. Our comprehensive syllabus covers everything from holistic pony care to advanced horsemanship, ensuring that children grow into knowledgeable and thoughtful riders.
At the heart of Think Like a Pony is a simple vision: to inspire and guide the next generation in horsemanship through a focus on relationship-based teachings. By educating children, we are creating a future filled with compassionate horse enthusiasts who understand how to create positive, respectful connections between horses and humans.
In addition to our well-established children’s horsemanship centre in Yorkshire, we bring together a growing global community of families through our Online Club. This platform gives families access to a rich library of resources, including e-books and video lessons, designed for children of all skill levels. As children progress, they can earn badges that recognize their achievements, making learning both engaging and rewarding.
We are proud to be the first horsemanship programme designed specifically for children. Over the past two decades, we’ve developed resources and lessons that focus on the safety and empowerment of young riders. Our approach goes beyond riding skills, helping children build strong, trusting relationships with their ponies. Through this connection, they also learn valuable life skills like patience, empathy, and problem-solving.
