The History of
The Horsemanship Event of The Year started with a dream — quite literally!
Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From my first pony, Solly, and hours spent simply being together, they have shaped so much of who I am.
Years later, while teaching horsemanship, I started dreaming about creating a different kind of event. Somewhere horses and people could come together, learn, share ideas, have fun and be inspired – without judgement, and always with the horse at the heart of everything.
When I first shared the idea with Nicole, her response was something along the lines of, “Let’s walk before we run, Larisa…”
Well… here we are! 😂
What started as a little dream has grown into The Horsemanship Event of The Year – Horsemanship Showcase – and none of it could have happened without the incredible people who have become part of it along the way.
Together, as a team and a community, we have brought people together, shared knowledge, challenged ideas, created friendships and hopefully helped make the world just a little bit better for horses and the humans who love them.
And that really is what this event has always been about.
It isn’t one person’s event. It’s our event – created by trainers, exhibitors, volunteers, visitors, friends and families who give their time, energy, knowledge and enthusiasm to make it what it is.
Whether you’ve been with us from the very beginning or you’re joining us for the first time this year, you’re part of the story too.
So here’s to the memories we’ve already made, the horses and people we’ve met along the way – and whatever slightly crazy idea we decide to run with next!
