Meet the Founder

Switch Equine was founded by Laura, a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) with a passion for bringing together ecology and equine welfare. With academic expertise in zoology, evolutionary biology, and behavioural science, Laura’s career has spanned roles as an ecological consultant, researcher, and advisor for nationally significant infrastructure and landscape restoration projects.

Her journey into alternative equine management began with her own horse, who struggled in traditional livery systems. This personal experience, coupled with professional expertise, sparked a commitment to explore management approaches that prioritise species-appropriate care while restoring natural ecosystems.

Laura’s dedication to continuous learning ensures Switch Equine incorporates cutting-edge insights into equine science, sustainable land use, and environmental restoration.
