Energy Healing therapies for horse and rider

I offer reiki energy healing and also a unique type of relaxing massage which accompanies reiki beautifully.

Reiki works to help horses with both physical and mental/emotional (including behavioural) struggles or illness/injury. Adding massage to the treatment allows for a powerful combination of two. 

Energy healing (reiki) is a valuable therapy not only for people, but for animals too, and can have great results with horses. Energy is channelled through the hands of the therapist directly to the horse to activate the body’s natural ability to heal itself, releasing blocked energies – to support physical, mental and emotional challenges, illness and injury. Equine Reiki is non invasive and uses no pressure or manipulation. It is a holistic therapy treating the cause of the problem and not just the presenting condition. It heals the horses on many levels: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Energy healing for horses helps to relieve a variety of conditions and challenges: from emotional, such as anxiety and past trauma (sometimes simply from having multiple owners or moving yards); to physical, including supporting injury recovery or chronic illness. It is a holistic approach and accompanies both veterinary treatment and other therapies well, such as physio and osteopathy.

Acute illness, pre- and post-surgery, wounds and lameness are some of the physical problems that respond to healing energy. This form of treatment often generates rapid improvement in the horse. Emotional problems such as separation anxiety, pain memory, box vices, extreme spookiness and any ridden or on the ground behavioural problems can respond extremely well too; energy healing excels in its ability to address mental and emotional issues in horses. It can also be useful in treating travel stress and digestive problems, as well as for settling mares who are new mothers. It is also beneficial as a horse approaches the end of its life, as it can provide comfort and support in the transition from this world.

Each session will last up to 1 hour depending on the feedback I receive from the horse during the session. Sometimes if the horse has not received energy healing/reiki before then a shorter session suits them better for the first session or two. However, other horses will happily receive energy healing for hours!

Depending on what issues the horse is facing, sometimes one or two treatments are enough to bring the results you require.  In other cases, the horse may benefit from several sessions or regular sessions for a period of time. Positive changes may be enhanced if the owner/rider also receives healing, as its well known that horses mirror what their human is feeling mentally and emotionally, and therefore they can heal together.

Every horse can benefit from reiki, from competition horses to field companions, and healthy and happy horses can benefit too! They will enjoy a deeply relaxing treatment that will enhance their general well-being.
