Laura Waterhouse: Empowering Healing Partnerships Between People and Animals

Laura Waterhouse is an Ayurvedic practitioner promoting health, easy movement and positive wellbeing for people, horses and dogs. Her holistic approach draws from Ayurveda, Masterson Method, Debono Moves, Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Innate Botanical Selections. Through this unique integration, Laura helps individuals, and their animal companions cultivate vitality, connection and harmony.

Laura believes the wellbeing of animals and their humans is deeply interconnected. When one thrives, so does the other. Her speciality is to empower people to take charge of their own health and become confident advocates for their animals’ wellbeing. The happiness of these partnerships is intrinsically linked, and Laura’s passion is supporting people to feel empowered in their own health choices and become confident advocates for their animal’s wellbeing. With a heart-led intention, Laura supports change and transformation through gentle, intuitive methods that awaken the body’s natural intelligence and engage connection.

Equine Integrated Therapies

Equine sessions include Masterson Method, Debono Moves and Cranio-Sacral Therapy to create a global change in functional movement, comfort and expression. She also teaches simple, effective techniques to incorporate into your routine to strengthen connection and joyful movement together. Laura offers Innate Botanical Selection sessions, where horses and dogs choose from carefully curated essential oils and dried botanicals. This self-selection process taps into nature’s pharmacy, encouraging animals to guide their own healing and restoring confidence, balance, and wellbeing.

Debono Moves – unlock effortless movement

As the first certified Debono Moves practitioner in the UK, Laura brings a unique and transformative modality to her clients. Developed by Feldenkrais practitioner, Mary Debono, this gentle, hands-on method helps both animals and people experience easier, more joyful movement. It re-educates the nervous system, breaking cycles of tension and allowing new movement patterns to emerge.

Horses, like people, can develop limiting habits due to pain, injury, or compensation. Debono Moves gently awakens dormant movement pathways, encouraging better posture, comfort, and coordination. As horses regain ease and confidence in their bodies, their curiosity and willingness to engage deepens, creating stronger, more joyful partnerships. Laura is excited to be sharing a demonstration of this life-changing method at the Showcase.

Amnanda: Ayurvedic healing for deep transformation

Rooted in Tibetan Ayurveda, Amnanda is a profound process combining touch, herbs, mantra, and compassionate presence to release the effects of stress, injury, and trauma. It promotes deep relaxation, cellular regeneration, and a renewed sense of confidence, connection, and joy.

Initially developed for people, Amnanda’s transformative power was soon recognised by Laura as beneficial for animals as well. She was entrusted with the task of adapting the method specifically for horses and dogs, resulting in a unique approach that supports their healing and emotional well-being.

The Amnanda Process consists of twelve treatments and fosters profound relaxation and cellular regeneration, offering a felt sense of safety, trust, and inner confidence. Somatically embodied rather than conceptually processed Amnanda works at the level of cell memory, helping the body reframe past experiences through attuned, mindful touch. Amnanda promotes inner coherence and connection, transforming how we relate to ourselves and others.

Laura provides Amnanda treatments and offers courses across the UK, training both professionals and non-professionals in Amnanda’s different modalities. Her six-month Amnanda for Horses and People course where participants receive and give Amnanda treatments facilitates a deep, embodied understanding and experience of the process. Amnanda is then shared with horses. As the heart opens and presence deepens, a sacred space emerges—one where healing unfolds through love, coherence, and connection.

This year, Laura is sharing a stand with Suz Crichton-Stuart. Working together, they offer a holistic integration of therapeutic and intuitive expertise, supporting transformative, embodied change within human–animal partnerships. They will travel to provide collaborative sessions and are based at Suz’s track and rehabilitation livery on the Welsh borders.
